# Apple and LG co-developing smart home doorbell, lock, thermostat, cameras

*The LG-branded devices include a doorbell, deadbolt lock, thermostat, indoor and outdoor cameras, and a floodlight camera.*

**Key points**

- Apple and LG are co-developing a doorbell, deadbolt lock, thermostat, indoor camera, outdoor camera, and floodlight camera for the smart home.
- The devices will be LG-branded, with LG handling manufacturing and support; regulatory filings for seven products have surfaced.
- All accessories support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and Matter, with the smart lock adding ultra-wideband for proximity-based unlocking. Launch is targeted for early 2027.

Apple is codeveloping a line of smart home accessories with LG, [Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-10-06/apple-s-smart-home-push-includes-doorbell-lock-thermostat-codeveloped-with-lg). The products include a video doorbell, a deadbolt lock, a thermostat, an indoor camera, an outdoor camera, and a floodlight camera. The devices will carry the LG brand, with LG handling manufacturing and customer support. Regulatory filings with the US FCC and UL Solutions list seven product names, including LG Video Doorbell Wired, LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, LG Smart Thermostat, LG Indoor Cam Plug-In, and LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In.

All accessories support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and the Matter smart-home standard. The smart lock also includes ultra-wideband (UWB) for automatic unlocking when a user approaches. The products are still months from arriving in stores; one person familiar with the timeline said they could ship in early 2027.

Apple is also expected to announce a new smart home hub, rumored as “HomePad”, at an event on October 13, alongside a new Apple TV and HomePod mini. Our [earlier coverage](https://mactoreality.com/apple-reportedly-planning-homepad-smart-home-hub-with-homeos-for-october-13) has the details. The broader push includes Apple’s rumored [privacy-centric security camera](https://mactoreality.com/apple-rumored-to-build-privacy-centric-security-camera-with-text-only-ai-alerts) and a hub with a robotic arm, but it’s unclear whether these LG-branded accessories replace or coexist with Apple’s own future products.
