Apple TV Press reported today that the Peanuts holiday special Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy will premiere on Friday 13 November, and shared its trailer. In the special, Snoopy ends up on Santa’s naughty list and has 12 days to show he is not a bad beagle.

Jeff Morrow, an Emmy-nominated composer, wrote the score. The special’s original music includes “Get Ready” by John Legend, produced by Raphael Saadiq; “Trying to Get There” by Kamasi Washington with Leon Bridges; and Laufey’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, produced by Spencer Stewart.

Peanuts and WildBrain produce the special. Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts and Logan McPherson are among its executive producers, alongside Paige Braddock, Chris Bracco and Mark Evestaff. The release comes under an expanded Peanuts agreement involving WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions that keeps the franchise on Apple TV+ through 2030.

Apple is also working with WildBrain and Peanuts on an animated feature in which Snoopy runs away and Charlie Brown and the gang search for him in the Big City. No release date has been given.

Why it matters

Apple TV+ has been home to Peanuts original co-productions since 2018 and to the classic library since 2020. The new special’s music line-up gives it mainstream appeal, while the planned feature points to Snoopy becoming one of Apple’s core family brands.
