How we use other people's work
- Facts, not phrasing. We report facts from other outlets in our own words and always link and name the source. Before anything is published, it is automatically checked against every source it is based on and held back if it reuses their wording.
- Quotes are short, in quotation marks, attributed and used as fair dealing for quotation, criticism and reporting current events (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, s. 30).
- Credit for scoops. When another outlet broke a story, we say so and link to it.
- Images. We never reuse images from news articles. Our article images are either generated by us (the typographic cards), licensed photos credited to the photographer (e.g. via Unsplash), or official press images credited to their owner.
Trademarks
Apple, the Apple logo, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, AirPods and other Apple marks are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Other product and company names may be trademarks of their owners. We use them only to refer to the products and companies we report on; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
