Dolby Atmos is coming to Apple TV’s live Formula 1 coverage, starting with the US Grand Prix weekend in Austin, Texas, which begins on Friday 23 October, Dolby Laboratories and Apple have announced.

The spatial audio format joins Dolby Vision, which has been available for every Grand Prix since the start of the season. Formula 1 in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos is available through the Apple TV app on supported Apple devices and on compatible Dolby-enabled TVs, soundbars and home theatre systems. Viewers need a US Apple TV subscription.

“We’re always looking for new ways to make Formula 1 on Apple TV even better for fans,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Music, Sports, Apple TV, and Beats. “The sound of Formula 1 is such an important part of what makes the sport so exciting, and with Dolby Atmos joining Dolby Vision, fans can experience the energy and intensity of every Grand Prix in a whole new way.”

Apple TV is the exclusive US home of Formula 1 under a five-year partnership announced in October 2025, with every practice, qualifying, Sprint session and race streamed live and on demand.
