Apple is planning a retail store reset on 6 November that signals the release of new Mac models and an updated iPad mini, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in his Power On newsletter on Sunday. The specific models have not been identified.
The same newsletter says Apple began iPhone Duo pre-orders despite knowing it faced severe supply constraints. According to MacRumors, Apple originally planned to launch the Duo only in the US and China, but then opened pre-orders in more than 70 countries simultaneously. Within 30 minutes, estimated shipping dates in most countries had slipped to around 25 January.
“Apple made a major mistake here,” Gurman wrote in his Power On newsletter.
Apple has not confirmed the November releases. The newsletter also covered Apple’s plans for a higher-end HomeView with a robotic arm.
