Apple has published an updated support document detailing fast charging for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the new iPhone Duo. The headline figures: the two Pro models reach 50 per cent battery in about 15 minutes over a wired connection, while the Duo takes about 20 minutes.

The document says the fastest wired charging requires the USB-C cable that came in the box and either Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max or a comparable third-party 60W-capable (or greater) adapter that uses Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) and supports USB Power Delivery 3.2. 9to5Mac notes that Apple’s adapter is currently priced at $34 in the US.

Model Wired time to 50 per cent MagSafe time to 50 per cent
iPhone 18 Pro About 15 minutes About 30 minutes
iPhone 18 Pro Max About 15 minutes About 30 minutes
iPhone Duo About 20 minutes About 30 minutes

Wireless fast charging for the iPhone 18 Pro models and iPhone Duo reaches 50 per cent in about 30 minutes using a MagSafe Charger and a 35W or higher adapter. Apple tested preproduction iPhone Duo units in July 2026 with its 1-metre and 2-metre MagSafe Chargers (A3502 and A3503) and the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter (A3351), measuring drained units in the open configuration. Charge times vary with adapter, settings, usage and environment, and fast charging might not work when it is too cold or too hot.

For comparison, Apple says the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max hit 50 per cent in about 20 minutes with a 40W or higher adapter, while the iPhone 17e and iPhone Air take about 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter.

iPhone Duo goes on sale today, 23 October, in the UK, the US and other first-wave countries, with 28 more countries and regions following on 30 October.
