Apple’s iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable phone and its most expensive iPhone at $1,999, is now available for lease through the new Apple Upgrade programme. With a trade-in of an iPhone 17 Pro Max, the 12-month lease costs $9.24 per month, 9to5Mac reported.
A 24-month lease with the same trade-in is $21.12 per month, while a 24-month lease without trade-in costs $57.99 per month. The standard 24-month instalment plan is $83 per month, and the outright purchase price remains $1,999.
The Apple Upgrade programme is a lease-to-own plan; the total cost never exceeds the list price, and the trade-in credit still applies if the user buys the device at lease end. The iPhone 17 Pro Max used as the trade-in example is Apple’s current flagship.
The pricing appears to contain an anomaly: a 24-month lease with trade-in costs more per month than the 12-month lease, though the article does not explain the discrepancy. Pre-order dates for the iPhone Duo have not been announced.
