iPhone Duo UK price, release date and specs: what you need to know

iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, goes on sale on Friday 23 October 2026. In the UK it starts at £1,999 for 256GB, and pre-orders opened on 16 October in more than 70 countries and regions. Here is every price, date and key spec, taken from Apple’s UK press release, UK online store and technical specifications.

All four storage options come in star white and night sky, at the same price for both colours. UK prices include VAT.

Apple’s UK store also offers 0% APR finance over 30 months, from £66.63 a month for the 256GB model. If something goes wrong outside warranty, Apple’s iPhone Duo repair fees run up to £1,499.

Prices in Europe and other key markets

European prices include VAT, which is why they differ from country to country. The 256GB model costs:

Release date and pre-orders

Pre-orders opened at 5am Pacific time (1pm in the UK) on Friday 16 October. The phone is available from Friday 23 October in more than 70 countries and regions. Apple names Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, the US and Vietnam, and its stores in Ireland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden also list 23 October. A further 28 countries and regions follow on Friday 30 October.

The launch comes with Apple’s biggest in-store demo set-up yet, and CEO John Ternus has been talking up the design against rival foldables.

Size, weight and displays

Closed, iPhone Duo measures 117.8 x 84.1mm and is 11.3mm thick, with a 5.4-inch outer display that Apple says gives 90 per cent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro. Open, it is 164.6mm wide and 5.2mm thin, with a 7.6-inch inner display. It weighs 254 grams. Unfolded, it is nearly as wide as iPhone 18 Pro Max is tall.

Both screens are Super Retina XDR OLED panels with ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On and 3,000 nits peak outdoor brightness, and they share the same aspect ratio, so apps scale proportionally. The inner display has a nano-texture finish to cut glare and reduce crease visibility, and its cover layer can be replaced by Apple.

Chip, battery and cameras

Chip: A20 Pro, the same as in iPhone 18 Pro, with a vapour chamber. Apple claims up to 35 per cent better sustained performance than iPhone 17 Pro. More on the cooling system.
Battery: two batteries, one on each side. Up to 24 hours of typical use, 31 hours of video on the inner display and 44 hours on the outer display. Up to 50 per cent charge in around 20 minutes with a 60W adapter, or 30 minutes with MagSafe.
Rear cameras: 48MP Fusion Main with optical-quality 2x Telephoto, and 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide.
Front cameras: 12MP Center Stage camera on the outer display, plus an under-display FaceTime camera on the inner display.
Durability: grade 5 titanium, Ceramic Shield 2 on the front, IP68 water and dust resistance.
Security: Touch ID in the side button, which works open or closed.

eSIM only, iOS 27.1 and Apple Pencil

iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide, including in the UK and Europe. It stores eight or more eSIMs with two active at once and does not take a physical SIM, so check that your network supports eSIM before switching. mmWave 5G is only supported on US models.

The phone ships with iOS 27.1, including Siri AI, which is still in beta. Apple says Siri AI launched in English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish due in October; our coverage of iOS 27.2 beta 3 has the latest on languages. Support for Apple Pencil (USB-C) is promised for later this year, without a firm date.
