Apple has brought Siri AI to Apple TV through the tvOS 27.2 beta and announced a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The conversational assistant also works on Apple TV 4K models from the second generation onwards through a software update.

Siri AI supports natural-language queries, follow-up questions and personalised recommendations in a full-screen interface for browsing content. During playback, responses appear as a compact overlay. It can also use personal context from a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, for example to play a programme recommended in a message.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K costs £299 in the UK and $299 in the US. Pre-orders opened on 13 October. Apple says UK shop availability begins on 30 October, while its US announcement gives 13 November. The new model has built-in far-field microphones for hands-free Siri; older compatible models get Siri AI but not that hardware feature.

Siri AI launches in English in the UK, US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. It is not initially available in the EU. Apple Intelligence on tvOS also adds descriptions for HomeKit Secure Video recordings and personal-context requests. tvOS 27.2 remains in beta, and Apple has not announced a final release date.

The announcement formed part of Apple’s Welcome home event. For the rest of the new hardware details, see our Apple TV 4K launch coverage.
