Jason Sudeikis would like to keep making Ted Lasso, but no writers’ room has been formed yet for a fifth or sixth season. He made the comments on the Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso podcast, in an episode released on 18 October, shortly after season 4 concluded.

Asked whether he wants to continue, Sudeikis said: “I would like to, yeah. I think it would be fun.” He added: “We haven’t started a writers room or anything like that.” When Fragoso suggested Apple would make more if he wanted to keep going, Sudeikis replied: “I would assume so.” The remarks were first highlighted by 9to5Mac.

According to AppleInsider, Sudeikis had planned to open a writers’ room for season 5 by August 2026, and reports from July said season 4’s production ran about a month behind schedule. Apple TV typically orders two seasons at a time, and chief executive Tim Cook has previously said he wants more Ted Lasso.

US viewers streamed close to 300 million minutes of season 4 in its opening two days, according to estimates cited by AppleInsider. Apple has not confirmed any further seasons, and the status of negotiations between Sudeikis and Apple TV is not public.
