WhatsApp has begun testing scheduled messages with a limited number of iPhone beta testers, WABetaInfo reports. The feature appears in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.42.10.19 on TestFlight, about a week after the same tool reached Android beta testers.
To schedule a message, users type a text, or pick a photo or video, and then tap and hold the send button to open a date and time picker. The earliest slot is ten minutes from now and the latest is two weeks ahead. Only one photo or video can go into each scheduled message, and scheduled messages are protected by end-to-end encryption like any other message.
Once set, scheduled messages appear in a dedicated section of the chat info or group info screen, where they can be deleted before they are sent. In group chats, the message is only delivered to people who were members when it was scheduled; anyone who joins later does not receive it.
The feature is rolling out gradually to some beta testers and cannot be switched on manually. WhatsApp has not said when scheduled messages will reach the public version of the iPhone app.
