Apple today announced Apple Home Collection, its first line of smart home accessories, made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The cameras and video doorbell come to the UK, US and Canada from December, while the lock, thermostats and sensors are limited to the US and Canada. UK prices start at £179.95.
Every product is set up with one tap on an iPhone and managed in the Apple Home app, with no separate app or account. Apple says home data is end-to-end encrypted, so only the user and the people they invite can see it.
UK products and prices
- LG Video Doorbell Wired from £229.95, with 2.5K video from the front and full HD from the bottom, a spotlight, and a chime that plays through HomeView and HomePod speakers.
- LG Floodlight Cam from £349.95, with two adaptive floodlights and colour night vision.
- LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In from £279.95 and LG Indoor Cam Plug-In from £179.95; the indoor camera can tilt down when the first person in the household gets home.
The UK prices include VAT. The cameras and doorbell are also sold in the US and Canada. They need a home hub such as HomeView, a HomePod or an Apple TV 4K, and keep video history through a supported iCloud+ plan rather than a separate camera subscription.
More accessories in the US and Canada
- LG Smart Deadbolt Lock from $349.95.
- LG Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Smart Thermostat, each from $199.95.
- LG and Schneider room sensors from $39.95.
Those accessories are not coming to the UK at launch. US prices exclude sales tax. Apple has not announced the collection for the EU, and HomeView itself will not be sold there because Siri AI is unavailable in the EU.
December, but not for everything
Apple says the collection will be available from December, with “select accessories” from early 2027. It has not said which products fall into the later group. The Home Collection was one of four home announcements Apple posted as press releases today, alongside HomeView, whose wall mounts also come from Schneider Home, and the HomePod mini 2.
Why it matters
Until now Apple has only certified other companies’ products through Works with Apple Home. This is the first time it sells co-designed cameras, locks and thermostats under its own name, which follows earlier reports of the LG partnership. In our view, the lack of a camera subscription is the strongest selling point against Ring and Nest, but UK buyers get only part of the range and EU availability remains unannounced.
