Code in the iOS 27.3 beta suggests HomeView will support third-party AI chatbot apps such as ChatGPT and Claude, and includes anti-spoofing protection, according to code explorer pdfu. The features are hidden behind a feature flag in the beta code, so they may not ship.
The finding is in HomeView’s PebblePlay software, the CarPlay-style bridge that lets third-party audio and video apps run on the device from a paired iPhone or iPad. The iOS 27.3 beta adds a “Conversational Apps” category, which pdfu says is intended for AI chatbots, along with groundwork for bidirectional audio routing, session management and interruptions. pdfu says it is not fully wired up yet, so it may not be ready when HomeView launches. 9to5Mac’s report, which cites the same finding, also names iOS 27.3.
The same code points to anti-spoofing protection. After three spoof attempts on a profile, the user would have to authenticate with an iPhone to see personal data. A cooldown system is in development: the first lockout would clear immediately, the second after one hour, the third after four hours, and later lockouts after eight. In the current beta, any lockout can be cleared by authenticating with an iPhone. MacRumors notes the anti-spoofing check is already enabled in HomeView software 27.2.
HomeView is due on 13 November for $299. The device has no App Store of its own; third-party apps that provide audio and video run through the PebblePlay bridge, which connects to a paired iPhone or iPad, as Apple explained when it unveiled HomeView. Apple has not announced chatbot support or anti-spoofing for HomeView, and it’s unclear whether these features arrive at launch or later.
