The iOS 27.2 release candidate (24B115) lets you select part of a Siri AI answer in the Siri app, Mac to Reality has found in its own testing. Press and hold on an answer, drag the handles over a sentence or a bullet point, and you get the standard Copy, Translate, Speak and Share options.

Until now, Siri answers were all or nothing. You could swipe an answer to copy it in full, or share it, which turned the response into a PDF. There was no way to pick out just the line you needed, such as a price or an address, without pasting the whole answer somewhere else and trimming it.

Apple doesn’t mention the change in its iOS 27.2 release notes, and we haven’t found it reported anywhere else.

Why it matters

Copying a single fact out of an AI answer is one of the most common things people do with a chatbot. Being forced to take the whole answer, or a PDF, made Siri AI clumsier than rivals for everyday use. Proper text selection is a small fix, but it removes a daily irritation.

As the release candidate is normally the build Apple ships, the change should reach everyone with a Siri AI-capable device when iOS 27.2 is released, expected in the coming days.
