Apple Newsroom reported today that this weekend’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix will stream live and on demand exclusively on Apple TV in the US. The broadcast introduces Dolby Atmos audio for F1 coverage, extends Multiview to compatible smart TVs, and includes both English and Spanish commentary.

The race takes place at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli could secure his first Drivers’ Championship there and become the youngest F1 title winner.

Subscribers can choose from up to 30 additional live feeds including Driver Tracker, timing and data feeds, a mixed onboard feed and a Podium feed. Multiview, which previously required Apple hardware or a streaming player to show up to four feeds on one screen, now works on supported smart TVs too.

Original programmes around the race include Circuits in Focus with Nico Rosberg and Emelia Hartford using EA Sports F1 25, Full Throttle hosted by Christina Roki with driver Yuki Tsunoda, and The POV with Calum Nicholas and Roki.

Today (22 October) Apple Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin is hosting F1-themed Today at Apple sessions with iPhone 18 Pro portraits of Haas driver suits and helmets, iPad Pro livery design with Apple Pencil Pro, and a live Q&A with Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu, drivers Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman, and F1 Academy driver Kaylee Countryman. On Sunday 25 October the store will livestream the race.

The free Apple Sports app for iPhone provides F1 leaderboards, standings and live updates for qualifying, sprint and race sessions, plus Lock Screen and Apple Watch Live Activities and Game Card Sharing.

Why it matters

This weekend marks the public debut of Dolby Atmos for Formula 1 on Apple TV, a feature we reported last month. Extending Multiview to smart TVs makes it available to more viewers without extra hardware. Apple is steadily deepening its F1 relationship after becoming the US home of the sport, integrating coverage across the Apple ecosystem. Whether this attracts enough subscribers to justify the rights cost remains an open question, but the technical upgrades show Apple is investing in the live experience.
