Apple Developer announced on 5 October that iPhone Duo will be available to customers from 23 October 2026. The company also published updated submission guidance for developers building apps for the foldable device.
Developers can recompile existing apps using Xcode 27.1, which adds development support for iPhone Duo, and use Device Hub to see how their apps behave across all poses and orientations. Updated screenshot and app preview specifications are now live, and optimised apps and games can already be submitted in App Store Connect. As a longer-term requirement, Apple said that from April 2027 any app or game submitted will need to include iPhone Duo screenshots.
Apple previously offered iPhone Duo at $9.24 per month via its upgrade programme and sells a $19 replaceable cover layer to address crease concerns. The device’s unfolded width nearly matches the height of an iPhone 18 Pro Max, as we noted earlier this year.
