Apple Newsroom announced on 26 October that the 27.2 software updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and visionOS are rolling out now. The updates expand the Siri AI beta beyond English into French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

Siri AI is a reimagined version of the assistant, built on Apple Intelligence. It understands personal context, can perform system-wide app actions and knows what is on the screen. It remains in beta and works only on Apple Intelligence-compatible devices set to a supported language.

Siri AI is not available in the European Union on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS. Apple said it is working constructively with the EU to find a way forward. The feature is also unavailable to users under 13. Features that rely on server-side models have daily usage limits; expanded access will be available for a fee in the future. Apple also said language support for Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese will arrive by the end of 2026.

Why it matters

Six months after Siri AI launched in English, the 27.2 update demonstrates a steady expansion of language support for Apple’s reimagined assistant. In our view, the rollout also makes clear the boundaries: a pause in the EU, a ban for under-13s, and new daily usage limits (a model we covered when Apple confirmed paid tiers for Siri AI). Apple is pushing its AI assistant into more markets, but it is still working through the economics and regulations of a global deployment.
