Siri AI is no longer English-only. With the 27.2 software updates released today, it’s also available in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, Apple announced. It runs in beta on iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2, on Apple Intelligence-enabled devices set to a supported language.

Apple says Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese will follow by the end of the year.

The EU catch for French, Spanish and Portuguese speakers

Apple says Siri AI is “currently unavailable in the EU in iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS” and that it is “working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward”.

So iPhone and iPad owners in France, Spain and Portugal still can’t use the new languages. On the Mac and Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s Siri AI support page still says EU users need their device and Siri language set to English, and Apple hasn’t yet said whether that changes with 27.2. The EU restriction doesn’t apply to French speakers in Canada and Switzerland, Spanish speakers in Latin America or Portuguese speakers in Brazil.

Six Apple Intelligence languages still wait

Apple Intelligence itself works with Siri and device language set to 16 languages. Six of them, Chinese (simplified), Danish, Dutch, German, Italian and Swedish, have no Siri AI date yet. A German or Italian speaker outside the EU gets Apple Intelligence features, but not the new Siri.

What Siri AI does

Apple describes Siri AI as a reimagined Siri built on Apple Intelligence. It draws on personal context across your messages, emails and photos, takes actions in apps (for example drafting an email or editing and sharing photos), understands what’s on screen and answers general-knowledge questions. In our test of the 27.2 RC, it also remembered earlier conversations on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Why it matters

Until today, Siri AI only worked in English. The five new languages reach speakers in markets such as Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico and French-speaking Canada, though Apple notes that some features may not be available in every region. The same Apple post also says Siri AI and other server-based features now have daily usage limits, with more access to cost a fee later.
